Hangin’ Out
I think the picture above just about says it all. Today was an awesome day as far as weather goes – so sunny and clear blue skies the whole time. I went swimming twice today in the two pools here at the bed and breakfast place we’re staying at. Oh also, the place has free breakfast in the morning – not a big deal as most hotel type places do that except this was better than the typical muffins and bagels. They had eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, muffins, plain yogurt, and fresh fruit. It was surprisingly good and so convenient to wake up to actual food without having to make or find something. I also remember how much I love swimming – its so relaxing and really cools you off. The smaller pool outside of our unit was nice and cool. The “lap pool” about 75 ft away was a little warmer (and deeper). I preferred the small pool because of how refreshing it was to hop in.
I think part of what makes this place so nice is that the foliage is like “built in” around the houses/buildings. Huge palm trees, banana trees, and some other wild trees with whacky fruit that I don’t recognize basically arch over the decks and lounging areas. Then, when you start to stare at that, you will see all the wildlife – birds and lizards are hanging out all over the place!
I saw that little guy as my sister and I were walking back from a walk we took with our cameras. Just as I went to snap a picture he stuck out that weird colorful neck thing. Pretty neat.
I also got to try out my Go Pro camera under water. Kind of cool. I look ridiculous because I couldn’t open my eyes under water (contacts) but it looks like it will be sweet for scuba diving. Here is a quick shot from the still-frame mode of the camera. Just ignore my ridiculous tank top tan and t-shirt tan (t-shirt tan is left over from Bimmerfest – doh!):
Other than today was more about relaxing from all the travel yesterday – after swimming for an hour or more earlier I napped on the hammock for about an hour. Oh – I got flip flops. I am sort of annoyed – I had these Reef flip flops for like 2 years that were awesome. I tend to wear them to wash my car and such and I guess I do more work in them then I should and finally the little toe strap thing tore. Had to find another pair but of course being in Key West that didn’t take too long. Also got a new bathing suit short dealy that “all of the fishermen and sailors wear…” lol – the sales guy at the place kept saying that to reassure me that they are good or something haha. Anyway – time to go eat soon.
