One of the biggest attractions each day in Key West is the Sunset Celebration.  It’s held down at Mallory Square right on the water.  Each night, as the sun lowers to the horizon, street performers gather and prepare to perform various types of shows (magic, fire, music, etc.).  So, naturally, you have to go down for Sunset Celebration at least once while in Key West.  This time there was a fire-breather guy, an escape artist, some musicians, a glass blower, about a dozen people doing various crafts, etc.

Pictured above is a man carving huge conch shells out of solid chunks of wood.

After checking out Mallory Square for a while we headed to Sloppy Joe’s – standard Key’s tradition.  We even brought Gracie – she went to her first bar.  We all had a drink and listened to a band play.  They were actually pretty good – they played Cajun style Blues/Jazz/Rock.  Their trumpet player was awesome and did a few crazy solo’s – very cool:

Afterward we walked back (I forgot to mention it was really, really hot) and headed to bed.  Fun day!
